Luge Squad Teams Up with CBE to Encourage Youth Literacy by Launching Luge Children’s Book in Calgary Schools
CALGARY—The Canadian Luge Team will add another chapter in its on going national For Sale campaign, when they team up with the Calgary Board of Education, October 22, to launch a truly unique luge children’s book created with the goal to promote literacy amongst the nation’s youth.
More than 200 Kindergarten and Grade 1 students from Olympic Heights School will attend the media event, which will also be used to officially name the 2014 World Cup Luge Team. The media event will take place in the Learning Commons Area of Olympic Heights School beginning at 1 p.m., October 22.
In addition to naming the team, the event will also unveil the main character of the children’s book focused on luge, and release details on how the book will influence hundreds of Calgary students and underprivileged children to live healthier and more active lives. The event will also officially introduce the Calgary-based author and illustrator, while rolling out details on the next stage of the team’s For Sale campaign on the track to Sochi 2014.
