Luge Canada

Garrett Reid

Events: Singles
Team NextGen A Team
Birth Date:June 21, 2003
Hometown:West Vancouver, B.C.

Growing up on Canada’s west coast, Garrett was inspired to try luge after watching his older brother, Park. At just seven years old, in January 2011, Garrett hopped on a sled himself for the first time at the Whistler Sliding Centre and he was hooked. He’s been sliding ever since, commuting from West Vancouver to Whistler, B.C.

Outside of luge, Garrett loves sailing. He is a member of the NSST sailing laser radial and full rig on the BC circuit in 2015. Garrett also enjoys biking and playing soccer as well as spending time with his grandparents.

His older brother did luge for six seasons before switching to bobsleigh where he competed for Canada in monobob at the Youth Olympic Games.
