Canada's Elite Luge Athletes Hit the Track for Canadian Championships and World Cup Races

WHAT:

With three World Cup races under their belts and the 2006 Olympic Winter Games on the horizon, Canada's luge athletes are ready to vie for podium finishes on their home track during the Canadian Championships on December 4, and again when the best in the world gather in Calgary for the Viessmann Luge World Cup, December 9-10, 2005.

Canada's luge athletes that will compete in the World Cup will be introduced during a media conference to officially kick off World Cup week on Tuesday, December 6, at 11 a.m. in the Ice House at Canada Olympic Park. It will be the final Canadian media availability for the luge team in the country before heading to the Olympic Winter Games.

Prior to the team announcement on Monday, Canada's top male and female luge athletes will vie for national titles during the Canadian Championships on Sunday, December 4, on the Canada Olympic Park track.
