CANADIAN LUGE ASSOCIATION CAPS OFF SEASON BY HOLDING NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS AT WHISTLER SLIDING CENTRE

All race disciplines set to hit track February 28, free admission to publicJust one week removed from hosting the world for the first international competition at the Whistler Sliding Centre, Canada's top male and female luge athletes will race head-to-head down the fastest track on the globe during the 2009 Canadian Championships.

Canada's high-performance luge athletes will take two trips down the 1,450-metre track in their quest to secure the national title on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 4 p.m. PDT

Athletes will compete for the national crown in men's singles and doubles, along with women's singles.

The Canadian Championships will be the final opportunity for public, who were not lucky enough to get one of the 3,000 tickets to last weekend's sold-out World cup race, to watch the an official luge competition at the Whistler Sliding Centre prior to the 2010 Olympic competition. Admission to the Canadian Luge Championships is free!
