Canadian Luge Team Celebrates Holidays and Olympic Spirit with Community and Visitors to Whistler Village

Athletes to hold start demonstration, introduce Olympic sport, meet Whistler residentsWHISTLER, B.C.—Canadas elite male and female luge athletes are sliding into Whistlers Village Square with Olympic spirit to celebrate the holidays and meet locals and visitors to the town during their final visit before the 2010 Olympic Winter Games, December 15, 2009 at 3 p.m.

Canadas high-performance luge athletes, who are in Whistler to hold their final training sessions on the Olympic Track which will culminate with the Canadian Championships on December 17, will set up a training ramp and put on a luge start demonstration, while coaching and challenging Whistler locals and visitors to try some fun apr├Ęs sliding of their own.

In addition, the national team will be available to meet and give thanks to the community for their support in preparing Canadian luge athletes to win in 2010, sign autograph and take photos while introducing their sport.

The team will also hold a draw for lucky fans to win national team clothing items.
