Schedule Update for Viessmann Luge World Cup

Training pushed back until December 9 afternoon, one-run races to be held Saturday evening

WHISTLER, B.C.—A heavy snowstorm that hit the Canadian prairies this week has

prevented a truck transporting athletes’ sleds from arriving into Whistler, B.C. this week

for the Viessmann Luge World Cup.

The sleds are now scheduled to arrive at the Whistler Sliding Centre on December 9 at

12:30 p.m. Training will begin Friday at 2:30 p.m. and continue Saturday morning. The

Canadian Team will be on the ice at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.

In an effort to still stage a successful event, International Luge Federation officials have

condensed race formats to one-run competitions for women’s singles, men’s singles and

doubles. The Viessmann Team Relay World Cup, presented by BMW has been cancelled.
