Olympic Luge Athletes Return to Vancouver to Launch Recruitment Initiative on Canadas West Coast

Olympians and B.C. youth hold media conference, June 9 at 11 a.m. in VancouverVANCOUVER—Canadas Olympic luge athletes will return to Vancouver to launch a recruitment drive in their sport on the West Coast, marking the first major legacy initiative of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.

A group of British Columbia youth from the Sea-to-Sky Corridor will join the Olympians for a media conference to challenge more young kids to get involved in luge by participating in summer and winter camps.

The unique announcement, which will include athletes and youth doing starts on a roller luge sleds, will take place on the Promenade of the Vancouver Public Library.

After introducing kids to the sport by coaching them on how to do proper starts, athletes will be sticking around to share the Olympic spirit while meeting media and public to launch their recruitment drive.
