Canadian Luge Athletes Kick off Pre-Olympic Season with Fast Track Capital Canadian Luge Championships in Whistler

Seniors and junior athletes set to hit track on October 21

Canada’s top luge athletes will return to the ice while vying for the titles of king and queen of Canadian luge when they compete in the Fast Track Capital Canadian Championships, at 12 noon to 2 p.m. PST on October 21 in Whistler, B.C.

The Canadian Championships, which will officially kick off the 2012-13 competitive season for Canada’s luge athletes, will include the nation’s top male and female athletes racing head-to-head down their home track the Whistler Sliding Centre, which is also playing host to the 2013 World Championships in February.

Canada’s high-performance luge athletes will take two trips down the Olympic track in their quest to secure the national title.

The Canadian Luge Association is a not-for-profit organization governing the sport of luge across the country.
